There was a time in living memory when the Battersea/Clapham/Balham/Wandsworth area was regarded as a cheap second rate area in which to live. It had little appeal and was regarded as a last resort for people who could not afford to live anywhere nicer! We all know that is no longer the case, and local residents are very proud to be able to say that they live in this highly respectable and sought-after area today.
